So Amazing

I wrote “So Amazing” at a time where not much was happening in my life.  I’ve been praying fervently for years now for God to move in certain areas of my life ie career, finances, housing, school, love, etc.  But, as I prayed, God reminded me of all that he had already done in my life. My mind suddenly shifted from longing for more, to thanking him for ALL that he had already done. I began to thank God for his amazing love and consistency in my life. His love is SO AMAZING!

Special Thank you to the fellow musicians who helped me put this song together.

A Super Bowl Experience!

Since I currently reside in Houston, TX, I thought it would only be fitting to participate in this years Super Bowl Experience. Along side some amazing singers and believers all over Houston, I sung at the Tailgate outside the Reliant Stadium before the game, for Super Bowl fans who travel near and far to see the Falcons face the Patriots. Like the saying all that glitters is not gold. We faced many challenges and overcame many obstacles that weekend. For 1) We had to be very flexible, as we had to undergo many changes and be willing to adjust quickly. 2) They canceled one of our performances, but instead of soaking and wallowing in self pitty we took our message to the street and sung to patrons out enjoying the NFL experience.

Just Life!

In life there are always going to be disappoinments and accomplishments, setbacks and comebacks,  winners and loosers. It's just life. It's how you deal with each situation that determines the outcome.  When facing dis

Endurance!

While researching the meaning of endurance, I came across the following definitions:

1. The fact or power of enduring or bearing pain, hardships, etc.
2.The ability or strength to continue or last, especially despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions; stamina:
3. Lasting quality; duration: His friendships have little endurance.
4. Something endured, as a hardship; trial.

It's so easy to throw in the towel. It's much more easier to just give up. But God wants "fighters." God wants people with faith like Job who declared, "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will defend my own ways before him." I just want to encourage you to fight the good fight of faith. Don't give up now, you've come wayyyyyyy too far to turn around now.

Trust with all your heart!

In this life you will have many times, many moments, and many situations when you feel like you're continuously climbing an up hill battle. There are many days I ask myself, "Lord,  where is the light in this tunnel." "When will my struggle end." But, deep deep down in my heart, I know the Lord loves me and, I recite Jeremiah 29:11 to myself. "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "Plans not to harm you, but to give you hope and a future." I will trust in the Lord, even through my up hill battles, and in the end God's will and His plan is what's best for me.

Happy Tuesday,

Who is He?

Palm Sunday, the day we remember Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem..."Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord....Matthew 21

Look through your eyes of Faith!

It can be so difficult at times to see past your current situation. Things always seem like there never going to change. Hard times always tend to go way longer then we planned. But then we must stop, and reflect on those old saying from the wise. "Trouble don't last always."  "Joy comes in the morning." "The sun will come out tomorrow." We must look through our eyes of faith, and reflect upon Romans 12:12... Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Whatever it is you're working towards Keep Fighting, Keep Pushing, Keep Praying, Keep Reading, Keep Seeking, Keep Knocking, Keep Asking, Keep Keeping On. Fight the good fight of faith, and look through your eyes of faith.

How To Do More With Less

Often times, we'll look at our situations and say "if I just had this, I could do that; if I just had more money more people, then I could do this. Many times God looks back at us and says, If you would just use what you have, I'll bless you with this and that. I had the opportunity to hear Dr. D.Z. Cofield, Pastor of Good Hope M.B.C in Houston, TX speak and he gave some awesome advice on how to do more with less. He stated that we must Trust God when what he says does not make sense with how we feel. God will tell you who you are, but we as humans don't believe it because we can't see past our situations. He used Judges 6:14-15 as an example, where the Lord told Gideon to go and deliver the people of Isreal from the hands of the Midians. However, Gideon asked the Lord, how could he do such a thing when his family was the weakest in the city, and he was the youngest in his family. God wants to use you with what you have right now. Don't worry about what you don't have. When you begin to use what you do have, he'll bless you with more. Work with what you got!

Your Breakthrouh Is On Layaway!

While visiting Higher Dimension on the Southwest side of Houston, TX., Pastor Terrence Johnson (affectionately known as Pastor J) gave an interesting analogy to breakthroughs and layaway. He empasized that it's already yours, and that God made the down payment. But it's up to you to get it out. He went on to give three key points as to how to get your breakthrough off of layaway.

1) Be Obedient
He talked about obeying God, and surrendering your life to His will. I talk with alot of peole, and they always say things like, I wonder why I haven't made it. Well a lot of times it's due to the fact that we're pursing things that God didn't intend for us. As people, we take the long way around, when if we'd followed God's plan in the first place, we probably would have reached our destiny's by now. He gave Deuteronomy 28:11 as an example. "If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth."

2) Maturity
He went on to discuss how many of us have not received our Breakthroughs because we're simply not mature enough to handle it yet. There are somethings we have to go through, we have to endure to grow and stretch our faith.

And Last but surely not least.....

3) Humility
The last point he made to drive his point home was that we must be humble. He stated that people who are humble will be exalted. I like it how when people don't brag on their accomplishments or successes, but let them speak on their own.

So be blessed, and know your breakthrough is on layaway, it's already yours, and God has made the downpayment. However, it's up to you to do the rest!!!!!!

10 Reasons why you should stay in tough situations

Tough situations are always extremely difficult while you are in them, but we all know they don’t last forever. Like the old saying, “Trouble doesn’t last always.” Here’s a list of reasons why you should stay in your tough situation.

1) You become stronger and more resilient to pain
2) You can help or testify to someone going through the same situation
3) You will be a living witness of how to survive
4) Tough situations build character
5) God sees somthing in you. God would never put more on you than you could bear; therefore, he feels you are tough enough to endure the pain.
6) You discover a power within yourself you never knew you had
7) Your self-esteem is built
8) You learn more about yourself
9) When you overcome tough situations you are always lifted to a higher level in life. Think about it in terms of wrestling.
My brother is a wrestler so I had to privilege of watching this first hand. Once a person is declared a winner on one level, they are then elevated to the next level. The person who makes it through all the levels is then declared as the champion.

Remember, you are a champion; God is taking you through your tough situation so he can elevate you.
